Dear Pawsome Pals,

Woof, woof, and tail wags all around! I trust this letter finds your tails wagging and your spirits as high as a frisbee soaring through the summer sky. Here at Sand Cherry Farms, life is a howling good time, and I couldn’t wait to share our latest canine escapades with you.

First things first, let’s talk weather and irrigation. Mother Nature’s been playing a game of hide and seek with us, sending timid showers one moment and then cranking up the heat to a sizzling 103°F! Can you believe it? We’ve been as busy as a squirrel in a peanut factory with hay picking and keeping our irrigation system running like a well-chewed tennis ball. Sam, our renter, took the initiative to fix our well, and Grandpa, Uncle Chet, and yours truly braved the scorching sun to clean up those pesky irrigation ditches. Phew, talk about a “hot” job!

Now, onto farm activities. We’ve been on a mission to make sure our farm looks as sharp as my fetching skills. Weed control and mowing are the name of the game. I’ve even gone on some wild adventures with Grandpa, checking on heifers, inspecting water tanks, and playing wildlife wrangler, relocating box turtles and snakes away from the roads. Move over, Crocodile Hunter; it’s Sasha the Snake Saver!

Speaking of wildlife, Grandma had an un-fur-gettable encounter with a 4-foot bull snake in her garden. Katie, our resident toad-catching champion, has been providing hours of entertainment with her hoppy pursuits. And let’s not forget the delightful critters we’ve spotted – black-tailed jacks, night hawks, gulls, and a hen pheasant with her adorable chicks. Nature’s a real comedy show out here!

On the subject of treats, Grandpa and Uncle Chet made a special trip to my absolute favorite store, Murdoch’s. Guess what? I got a treat from my buddy Johnny! It’s the simple joys that make life as a furry farmer extra sweet.

But hold onto your leashes, folks, because we had a night of suspense recently. Gunshots, a mysterious car, and our vigilant neighbor, Lori Peterson, had us calling the Sheriff’s Office faster than you can say “fetch.” With the Fourth of July just around the corner, we’re keeping our noses twitching for any signs of trouble. Our trusty fire engine is geared up and ready to roll in case of any fireworks mishaps.

Well, my dear pals, even a high-energy pup like me needs to catch some Z’s amidst all this excitement. So, with a tail that’s wagging like crazy, I’ll wrap up this bark-tastic update. Wishing you a summer filled with belly rubs, tasty treats, and laughter that echoes through the fields!

With boundless energy and joyful barks,

Sasha 🐾
